3 Types of perfume oils

Perfume oils can be divided into three main categories:

1. Essential oils - Essential oils are used for aromatherapy and massage. They can calm, soothe, improve mental clarity, help prevent bacterial infection, and energize. These oils are normally much more highly concentrated that other perfume oils.

2. Designer type oils - Designer type oils emulate the same scent notes as brand name perfumes found in department stores. They are designed to smell the same while lasting longer and are often cheaper. There is a wide range of quality differences between different oil supplies.

A designer type oil might look like the image below. The "Inspired by" designation is often (but not always) on the label to indicate that it is not an actual product by the designer.

3. Unisex fragrance oils - Common fragrances are often sold as unisex fragrance oils. Some of the most popular are vanilla, chocolate, china rain, egyptian musk and various fruit and flower scents.
